The scientific subject of the Department

covers the study of atmospheric energy balance, the study of mountain massif effects on meteorological processes in lower atmospheric layers and, following WMO requirements, the research in the regional meteorology and climatology.

Research subject can be divided into six groups:

• radiative processes in the atmosphere

• ultraviolet radiation and ozone

• energy budget of the Earth's surface

• regional climate changes

• mass and energy exchange between the Earth's surface and the atmosphere

• microclimate and phytoclimate
