Foreword

The Slovak National Committee for IUGG was established in 1993 after Czechoslovakia had been split into the Czech and Slovak Republics. The Committee is pleased to present the first Slovak National Report to IUGG. The intention of the Committee is to provide a concise summary of research and contributions to geodesy and geophysics accomplished during the past four years in the Slovak Republic.
     The Report consists of partial reports to five associations - IAG, IAGA, IAHS, IAMAS and IASPEI. The reports to associations were compiled by the national correspondents for the associations.
     The Slovak National Committee believes that the Report will be a useful reference to those foreign colleagues who cooperate with Slovak geodetists and geophysicists and to all who are interested in what has been achieved in geodetic and geophysical research in the Slovak Republic.
